Owner E.M. Anderson Photography
Emily is a beautiful and gracious friend. She is a pastor’s wife, mother of 3 boys and a wedding and portrait photographer. She has “real talk” about what balance actually looks like- it is more like a seesaw than a perfect well oiled machine. She talks about living the life that the Lord has given to you without comparing to others. She also gives encouragement and “permission” to young moms to focus on the joy of being at home.
She has worked to enfuse beauty, grace and kindness into her business, which sets herself apart from others in her industry. She views her career as a service industry and a way to honor Christ where she is at and do her best work for her clients. God has given her an eye to see beauty all around her and she seeks it true beauty and not just the pretty.
How Contentment & Patience Go Together
Her great wisdom and insight about how to find contentment and patience in her business. Emily has a sweet outlook on life and her goals and really looking for ways to slow down, build relationships with her boys and others. Many things make her life rich even if we are not rich. The Lord has given her a sweet grace to take things as they comes and watching over her heart with all diligence. She has seen the blessing of living in the now for the glory of God. Be encouraged and find a new strength in some of the areas where you need some perspective. We talk about taking our thoughts captive and making decisions based on truth and not based on our emotions or how we are feeling. Her candid look at how she has let her priorities get out of whack and how the Lord has helped her keep her eyes on Him. As a woman who loves the Lord our priorities look different and taking a “wholistic view” of success across all areas of her life and not just the tunnel vision of financial success in business. Things aren’t always how they appear on the outside and it is important that we don’t compare to others and enjoy where God has placed us and how far he has brought us.
Questions For Reflection:
Do you write your goals down?
What ways can you inject and seek to find the beauty in your home and around you?
What areas of your life could use a dose of contentment and patience?
How can you make decisions based on truth instead of feelings?
